interfacing SIM900 with stm32 via USART

hi friends;

I want to interface SIM900 module with stm32 micro controller using USART interface. Is it possible to connect rx and tx pins directly, or should i use a voltage level converter circuit?

If the voltage levels of SIM900 and STM32 doesn't match then you need to use bi-directional level translator.
