interfacing of microcontroller 8051 to pc

my schematic has two adc0808 there digital o/p goes to microcontoller.then it perform operations on these vAlues and generate o/p that will go via seriel port of pc.I dont know how 8051 will be interface with pc's seriel port.Anybody help me these values will be needed in matlab program further so plz give me program that how can i take values from seriel port of pc?

Added after 55 minutes:

my schematic has two adc0808 there digital o/p goes to microcontoller.then it perform operations on these vAlues and generate o/p that will go via seriel port of pc.thn by matlab i read this data because i have to perform encoding and modulation on it and then i have to send the modulated data to again seriel port of pc where there will be an antenna.the links u have mentioned isn't much helpful . kindly Now give me suitable suggestions .plz dont mind.I should in4m u abt this case before.sorry
