interfacing encoder with pic

i have a 10bit encoder. i need interfacing this with a pic. everyone can help me.

what kind of O/P it gives?
Can u give the part no of that encoder and PIC no. too?

General guidelines:
First think to check on what Logic it is working..
second is to check the comparability between controller and encoder whether we can interface the bus directly or not..

If above two are ok then you can GPIOs as a interface if there is no dedicated interface for encoder..

this is the encoder trd-j10s and pic 18f4550. i need the prog to the pic 18f4550 savvy singnal from encoder.

4.75V is the min operating voltage. so if u power up with 5V directly u can interface.
