i am working on maxq3180 ic whose power supply requirement is 3.3V dc.the power supply requirement of TS-7250 which is a single board computer is 5v dc.i want to interface maxq3180 with TS-7250.will they be compatible and can data be directly transferred from ic to sbc.if not then what i can do to interface them and recieve data correctly.how does the changed levels of power supply affect the interface. plz reply as soon as possible.
Re: interfacing components with different power supply requi
To connect devices that use two different levels you need a level shifter (or logic level translator) ..
In some cases it can be fixed with single-transistor-inverter, in other cases it has to be done with the 3.3V=<>=5V buffer ..
But it has to be done ..
Usually is true what IanP writes,
but you can check these datasheet in detail to worstcase data: often is the output level enough high that your 3.3V system delivers output level what works (in these case 3.3Vx0.7=2.4V).
It can work if your supplyvoltage is garanted not lower as 3.2V and you dont have temperature extrems...!
In all cases the MAXQ can have Usupply up to 3.6V-maybe it helps a little to spare on components?
In full qualified industrie porduct is for me clear too, you must have an leveshifter, better level translator_ and Pericoms components are very good product for that.

I am quite new to MAXQ3180. As i read from the MAXQ3180 datasheet, the required voltage supply range to MAXQ3180 is 3-3.6V.
Currently , i have a circuit which the supply voltage is 3.3V. However, the peak to peak Voltage ripple is up to 200 - 250mV. Will it cause the MAXQ3180 malfunction?
Thank you very much.
