Either do I. Can someone provide some help? I get the following error: Failed to check out license hfss_desktop
Invalid (inconsistent) license key (FLEXlm Error -8)
Ansoft HFSS 11 does not support Vista yet. Take a look at the link, and note, that for HFSS 11, vista is classified as limited. Meaning that it is not compatibly with vista. My suggestion is to downgrade or dual-boot windows xp.
you can install to vista in xp compatibility mode. the 3d modeler has some bugs, though, the model view changes back and forth... it's hard to explain here...
hi did anyone get the solution of your problem, i am also facing the same problems and i am using windows 7, if you have got the solution , then please share it with me.
i have tried changing the compatibility to xp also but no use.
thanks in advance
How about giving us the version of HFSS? Have you read the installation guide? The error message you post sounds like a license issue. It the license tied to a single machine, or is there a network license server. You really do not make life easy for yourself when you don't give sufficient information for anyone to help you.
I must admit I have Flexlm. I once recall having a problem installing MATLAB on Solaris and found it was possible to go on a 2 week course on Flexlm. All I was trying to do was install it on a single workstation for which I had a valid, legal license. I eventually found the issue mentioned on some Chinese web site. It appears there was a change in Solaris 10, which Sun considered an enhancement, but Mathworks considered a bug in Solaris.
Version 13 of HFSS is the latest, but that runs in XP compatibility mode on Windows 7. HFSS 14 is supposed to be released at the end of November 2011 or the beginning of December 2011 - i.e. within the next month.
