Install Windows Xp over windows 7

Hai all

Shall I install windows xp OS over a window 7 machine without formatting windows 7 . My intention is to make the machine dual operating system ? Please help me

My suggestion would be to use a virtual machine like vmware or virtual box and try to do that in virtual environment before you try it in the real hardware becasue if you mess things up you will bot be able to boot.

Hil, you also use Oracle virtualbox it is for free and very good and using it by the way

hi incase you dont want to use virtual system .dont install windows xp over windows7 os because xp is a older version.so remove windows7 install xp and then install windows7.installing xp over 7 may cause problems

I think its not possible to install XP over 7. When I've tried the same, it shown some errors.

Yes it is but the windows 7 bootloader gets overwritten so you have to restore it.
