input key code in verilog using a Nexsys 3 board and Xilinx

I have a Nexsys 3 board with a keypad pmod. I have the keypad working where when I press a key on the keypad and it displays on the 7 segment display. What I need now is somehow to read in more than one number, so when a sequence of 4 keys are pressed the word open displays on the 7 segment display. Any ideas???
