Inferfacing 8051 to PC via RS232 with Visual Basic

Hi

The interface between 8051 and PC (hyperterminal) via RS232 has worked well. Now I want to control 8051 from PC and I believe Visual Basic is maybe the ideal choice for me to devise the application to control the 8051.

Is it good idea?

If yes, know any good tutorial for me to look up the visual basic codes to control rs232 with 8051?

I have codes for communicating with RS232 but not with Visaul Basic...
