Hi all
I'm looking for some inexpensive substrate for microwave circuits.I've usually worked with RO4003.But this substrate is expensive. For FR4; this material is not accurate.Would you please help me finding some inexpensive and resonabely good and accurate parameters?
Do you have any information about GIL technology?

Hi

Arlon 25FR is a lowloss material: tand=0.0035@10 GHz and er=3.5

This material is much cheaper than Rogers.

hi tyassin
would you please compare the price of your suggested substrate and ro4003 and FR4 in your region?

Yes sure

A substrate/laminate of:
Thickness: 60mill(1.524mm)
Size: 18" x 24"

Price Rogers 4003C: 215$Price Arlon 25FR: 64$

(Note Arlon 25FR has a standard thickness of 58mill.)

You have to consider that this is for a few panels, less than 50 pcs. If you go up in volume, the price of Rogers will decrease more.
Arlon is pretty much same price even for over 100 of panels.
This is for a thick laminate if you go down in lets say half the thickness you will go down half the price.

Standard FR4 with the same size and thickness cost around 8\$.

Hope this gives you an idea.
