I just came across this article on how to "Build a complete industrial-ADC interface using a microcontroller and a sigma-delta modulator":

**broken link removed**

Whilst a very interesting article it avoided the the more difficult question of input protection. Transorbs, diodes, Current limitation, isolation etc

What is every one else using to protect their inputs? Are there standard circuits?

I currently have to design a isolated jumper configurable 0-20mA, 0-10v, 0-5v input which is for an industrial envronment. The only usefull protection cct i have found so far is **broken link removed** (for the 0-20ma).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks in advance for anyones help
