i am building a mobile robot nowadays, and i am thinking of infrared transceiver so do i need to send the pulses in a specific frequency or it does not matter?

Re: object avoidance

I think if you are using an IR receiver module(like one in TVs, dish receiver), you'll need to send the IR signal at 38KHz cause these recevers won't work except at this frequency.

This is the IR module I told you about.
