[SOLVED] ignition system producing sparc

hello friends,

is there anybody who has experience or information and schematics for an ignition system that produces sparcs to ignite fuel etc. ??? it should be easy to build up and working at about 10V dc.

Try International Rectifier's (IRC) HEXFET Designers Manual and Application Notes (my copy is from 1987) or IRC's application note #AN-969. This is an excellent circuit - I have built it and it works very well with almost any coil, even though they are pretty specific about the coil parameters.

You will likely find examples of schematics for circuits related to
automotive ignition systems in the application notes from several
manufacturers of the power switching transistors that are usable
for this purpose. E.g. I have a book published by RCA named
"Solid-State Power Circuits Designer's Handbook", which contains
circuit examples of such designs. I think RCA was later bought by
Harris.

Solid-state device-based ignition systems mainly are grouped into
two main categories; "inductive discharge" types (i.e. the "regular"
ones in which the energy is stored in the magnetic field of a coil),
and the "capacitive discarge" type, in which the energy is stored in
a capacitor and a high-voltage transformer is used to produce the
high voltage needed to bring about the spark.

Both of these general types of ignition system schemes have
distinct advantages and disadvantages. But in order to investigate
the finer aspects of that you may have to invest some amount of
time. Easiest would be to find an application note which circuit
example could be used more or less directly for your purpose.
