Hello,

I got some problems with cadence machine, the following are my problems:

1. I saw some tutoral from website, and they mentioned that EVERY TIME when we access cadence system we need to execute a command -". cdscdk2003". I have tried that but it seems can't work at my cadence machine.

2. I have simulated a simple circuit without BJTs and MOSFETs, it works well.
But, after I used Virtuoso Schematic Editing to edit a new circuit with BJT components, and tried to link to a library model through the window analog enviroment. It shows there is no path to access the model of component. (I have checked there are many *.scs models in my machine.

3. I have read some tutorial and they talked about *.m model parameters, I have searched my machine in the lab, and it seems no any *.m file built in machine.
Could anyone tell me what's the different between *.m,*.mod and *.scs?

I hope that someone can help me to make my ideas more clearly about these problems or questions~

Thanks in advance.

unable to open input file cadence

I am not sure about the first point, i guess some problem with the environment settings.

for second point , make sure the model names that u used is same (in input netlist and .scs/.mod file).
Only existence of .scs file will not make it all fine, u must check inside the .scs file for various model names and parameters are rightly specified.

3) As far as i know, these are just 3 formats of specifying the models. These differ slightly in the format. However .scs is the format accepted and works best with Cadence simulator.

I hope it helps.

bye

Hi~

Thanks for your tutorials.

Hi,

Thanks for your replying. I have attached the error message I got from cadence machine. I thought it might caused by the library path definition. How do you think about the following error message? Thanks again.
