Can any one tell me how to write data on to the serial port with out using hyperterminal. I mean I also need what hyperterminal does???

The simplest way I found is using the Labview.
Use Labview and then using NI-VISA you can quite easily communicate through serial port.

If you have Labview, you can find the simple example in the examples section which will help you much

Bests,
Shan

The even simplest way, is to use another instance of Hiperterminal, performing a full-duplex communication socket (send-receive).
That´s because no program instalation is required, due you´re just using a Windows native program.
