Hi!

Can anyone tell me how to install a win-modem (for example, the Zoltrix smart-spirit modem) in linux?

The manufacturer does not provide a linux driver for this device and since these modems are not real modems ,i.e. some operations are done in software rather than hardware implementation , linux does not recognize the device .

any idea to solve this problem is welcomed

If the vendor didn't provide the driver, you can only try the latest version of linux. Maybe the latest linux version can support it.

A hardware manufacturer is not nesesrali a chipset manufacturer, go to
**broken link removed**
and download the script scanmodem
**broken link removed**
executre it under your linux it will tell you the chipset maker and a hole lot more, then search for your model here:

if you can't find it there google for it.
Hope you're successful
