Hi, all I am a newbie on Proteus, and I want to simulate a trifilar balun
|
How can I do it ?
I want to couple both outputs to the virtual oscilloscope and
see that they differ 180 degrees.

Kindest regards,
StoppTidigare

Dear mayaka2004, I am hoping for some more help....
I unpacked and tried to understand.

I started to try understanding the netlist, so that I can modify it later on for other baluns...
I write my questions/comments starting with "%" below...
Kindest regards,
StoppTidigare

Dear mayaka2004. I finally followed your advice and did Ctrl-X and Ctrl-V while pointing over the toroids, and saw the underlying balun structure.

I did several things (which probably reveal how little I've understood...)
1. I put corebalun.mdf in the model directory and then I tried to pick the component to a schematic through the DEVICE library (stupid me..).

2.I coupled a generator, and two voltage probes to the toroid lying below in your schematic. Nothing happend when simulating.

3. I finally tried to get rid of the overlying component and copied the corebalun
into a schematic and here I am now. This must be the easiest for a newbie, and in balun.zip I have a screendump of it, but it doesn't walk.

Could you help me out some more ? What should I modify ?

Hoping for some more help...

Kindest regards,
StoppTidigare

remember one ring core coil is a sealed ring magnetonical element with hysterisis in its magento valance with resonance at a given band notch it re-oscilates at

a very inperational subject indeed and needs experimented with
things like cold fussion {the us goverment carries on tests as of this year}

we need the pols and russians to help

?

:)

some people just cant be educated and are very narrow spective and "type cast"

If you have an emergency phone Social Work Standby Services on 0800 811505. Glasgow City Council may provide such services. :)

i think after working in maplin
you would need this more than any other

Cannot a guy with a brain damage (myself) get some more help ?

Of course somewhere there's a limit to peoples willingness to help....

Apparently people who responded in this thread reached their already.

Sad

Hi mate
find here 1:1, 3 wires balun circuit design made in proteus.
You can modify all parameters and values and see how result varies.
If you own advanced simulation then use graphic analysis and rise generator frequency to 100/200Mhz or even more. If not then you can use oscilloscope and real time animation but set generator to 1Mhz.

Best wishes
Cu

ye very good

there is always one idiot prepaired to hand someone who is learning
on a plate
exactly how to do a thing

WITHOUT the person who pm me for help

actualy learning anything themselfs
no experiments
no insight gained
and no experiance

its like someone making you coffee and instead of you drinking it they taste it first
to tell you its coffee and where its from

so much for individulaism

you would be better to NOT post completed designs

as i did

this way the person does what they should have done in the first place
and read a book/manuals/ help

and educate themselfs better

copper your a prat.....!

Friend, thanks for your PM but your welcome !

I thought that one who wanted help others is welcome here but looks like someone disagree. I reported mayaka's post because I cannot see reason why he named me as an 'idiot'.

PS: dont like coffee. Too much coffee may affect on your mind and you must have drunk many of.

StoppTidigare,

Hi mate, You find here a 4:1 balun made in proteus.
This one makes use of couple of inductors as 2 transmission lines.

Have fun

Hi copper ! Thank's !

Dear Edaboard members,
I am using the book of Peter Vizmuller "RF Design guide" and there he says that a particular 1:1 balun on fig.2.21 page 73 should give a "symmetrical operation ...as in driving push-pull amplifiers", but it doesn't according to proteus simulation. The balanced terminals output are 180 degree out of phase, but they differ in amplitude.
See attached balun2_1.zip
Am I correct ?

Then I've also simulated the famous Guanella balun, which by inspection at least should give something symmetrical as output. Here Proteus must be failing or I am doing something wrong...

Anybody has an idea ?

Kindest regards,
StoppTidigare

if i had time to explain i would tell you why this happens

but it is simply a matter of c++ and the actual api used to create all the models in ISIS dlls inc prospice

and the way it is expanded and written at presant 8O

this is why i mention to USE ANOTHER SIMULATOR

PROTEUS DOSNT HAVE THE ANCESTRY TO BE ABLE TO COMPOND THE CALCULATION YOU EXPECT YET !!!!!

LOOK AT THE API

IF YOUR NO IDIOT TO C++ YOU WILL SEE THIS IS THE CASE :x

the best thing you can do
is use a better RF simulator made by programmers that concentrate on what you need
