How to reset HP inkjet cartridge chip?

Hi all,

I need to refill an inkjec cartridge for HP500 or HP800 printer, but the cartridge contains a chip that monitors the ink level and reports this to the board controller, unfortunately, after the original cartridge is empty, the printer does not recognize the refilled cartridge because the chip is not reset yet.

Anybody knows how to reset the chip of the original cartridge?
