How receive DTMF tone from mobile phone?

I need it for remote controle.

Could I use data cable to read send number

from another phone with AT command and

HyperTerminal?

Hi everybody,
u can use a chip that is a DTMF receiver to convert the tone to binary digits then use the binary digits for control. I did a project using the DTMF receiver to control the movement of a robot using the AT89C4051.
the chip is HT9170 from Holtek.

u just put the phone to receive ur phone cal (answer automatically) and when it answers ur phone call u push the no.s on ur phone the DTMF will take the tone and convert it the the binary digits the microcontroller does the rest.

DTMF is like a voice. If you do not use a mic to detect this sounds you do not need a DTMF receiver , if you want to communicate with cell phone by data cable or IRDA , it is just a digital communication. DTMF has nothnig to do with it.

windows mobile receive dtmf

you can use a simply serial class and use any modem to receive dtmf carriers
and decode it back to serial bytes over com access driver in windows

ive done this with a loop cable virtual serial port driver and two physical modems that dial each other via a loop back cable two wires...easy
dial one the other receives auto

remember in telephone any ring will activate a modem and any modem sending just sends a ring.... !!!!!
but all modems can just receive a number in dtmf also on ring

ie it rings then on receive string in dtmf sends dtmf string for access....
this system can be reused
you can do this using two copies of hyperterminal
if you dont want to build a c++ or vb program to do it

or use one copy and two wire and also connect the decoder under test to the modem

it will send and receive dtmf and decode it easy look to at&t protocol

i just used two physical modems and com3 and 4 via the compim in proteus

you can use atmaga16 for micro &MT8888 chip for dtmf detction
you can find MT8888 datasheet with a serch in the web if you can work with MT8888 you can do anything with DTMF
the MT8888 is a fulldublex DTMF chip

Hi,
MT8888 is good,but MT8870 is easier and cheaper.
MT8888 is DTMF transciever,but 8870 is only reciever.
I think its better than holtek products,and u can use the
application circuit in the datasheet without any change.
