I read about hack attacks of code protections of microcontrollers
(PICs etc.) How safe are the code protections? How to protect
our work from thiefs?

As far as I know it is safer to use non flash OTP parts.

They have real fuses for protection inside which can not be recovered by erasing parts of the flash with voltage spikes ...

yes

Hi

I agree with c-man that used the otp part as replacement test your firmware
in flash part and sold your product on otp part

Re: yes

You can not keep the firmware from the technology.

Use a MCU that has EEPROM or flash memory inside
Some MCUs have mechanism to prevent the ROM code
being read out when protected.

I think that also for flash type, read the protected firmware is very difficult, I have read some site about micro hack, but is pure philosopy, I think that if you try to delete eeprom with fuse code you delete all flash memory. Personally prefer spend my time to write a new code that try to read immodificable hex code

Check it please.Maybe useful for you.
