How to modify GDS and take it back to PnR database !!

Hi,
I have a customer request : He has GDS,verilog and SDF which was used as GLS and taken to FAB. Now for the next design he simply wants to do some ECO in the same and tapeout again. However, he has lost the PnR database.
1> Is there any way using any tool that we can restore the PnR DB from all that we have and then do the ECO changes ?
2> He also wants to take it to a newer technology and do some minor functional changes. Is there a way to do it ?

Don't know what you mean by 2), but for 1), the answer is pretty simply: there is no way you can convert GDS back to PnR. You have to do the ECO manually.
