How to measure field strength?

I am new to this forum. I am trying to measure the electric field strength in a given mode between two points in a ridged waveguide. How do I do this? Specifically, I want to find the electric field strength across the mid points of the ridge of a ridged waveguide at either port. I appreciate anybody answering me this question.
