Hi Guys,

Can I use pin B25 on PCI connector on my motherboard as a power supply or I need to use pin B5 and B6 (5V) from PCI connector on motherboard and regulate it with AM1117 3.3V for my PCI board ? I need the power supply for Cyclone II on my PCI board.

Thank you

What does PCI spec say in paragraph "4.3.4.1. Power Requirements"?

It's suggested to connect all supply pins of a voltage rail in parallel.

I can see that,
my question is, can the motherboard supply my PCI board ? I'll take 5V from motherboard as my power supply input....
did you get my question ?
thank you

can I use this 5 V as my main power supply ?
on my board VCC = 5V from motherboard
Please see :

thank you

Both supplies have to be present on a PCI host system. Thus you can use either one or the other.

I won't use more supply inputs than necessary and besides this aspect, minimize power dissipation.

PCI Host = My PCI card ?

From motherboard, it can supply 3.3V and 5V directly to my card, so is voltage regulator necesary then ?
thanks

With "host", I was referring to the PC mottherboard. I would use 3.3V supply without a regulator.
