What kind of filter FIR or IIR?
I think you should ask in the DSP/Signal processing forum.
In Matlab there are functions that calculate the filter coefficients. You should provide the type, bandstop/notch for example the window type for FIR or the filter type Butterworth, etc for IIR. I think you can find these in matlab help.
