How to make a LED blink for 5 secs in 555 timer?

question on 555 timer

how to make an led to blink for 5 secs and then off by itself? anyone can help...

Hi
You can do it with 2 555 ICs
First one you configure as 5 sec single shot.
Second one with 1Hz astable multivirator.
Out put of first 555 will be active low you connect it to
reset pin of second 555 IC. Since reset is active low
you need to add a transistor invertor as shown in attched
block diagram

microcontroler??? relay???? 2 555 circuits????

you can do a monostable with one 555, use a pulse to trigger it and there you go, problem solved....

Get the 555 datasheet and look at the circuit there, is really easy to build, it should give you any problems.
