I need to use an LED in such a way that the LED will lit when the voltage across the LED is sufficient to lit it but the LED will remain lit even after the voltage across it drops to zero. Is there any simplest way to do that?

how long should dhe Led lit?
try an gold cap (holds on fo minutes)

If you want to use a cap you have to prevent the cap voltage to drain away through the
powerconnection when you switch off the "thing". Try a diode between + and the cap.
