How to Integrate Scripts in Cadence

Hello ,
I am a Student at San Jose State University.I wish to know how to integrate scripting languages like OCEAN, PERL,TCL etc in CADENCE IC DESIGN.

I am using Cadence Virtuoso.

Kindly let me know.

Hi,

For Virtuoso environment,the SKILL scripts is more appropriate choice in my experience.

n yeah SKILL SCRIPT z better n easier to learn i guess! bt if u knw PERL n all tht u l find a solution to integrate n if not u cn develop a solution! Gud luck

You can find a lot of information inside cdsfinder and cdsdoc.

The best way to master SKILL is to read SKILL user's guide by Cadence (in cdsdocs and has the name: sklhelp.pdf) it's not large, you can read it completely in one week..

Then post problems about SKILL in forums to get help, untill you be professional

script for cadence

U can execute perl or Tcl or C scripts through skill by using ipcBeginProcess commands. There are a set of commands
which use inter process communication. Try skipc.pdf .

i think main topic was about calling a script or integrating it in cadence and nobody is answered.
if i got a completed skill script how can i use it?

In the CIW type: load("name_of_skill_script") -- including the double quotes ""
