if any one knows how to install calibre
im having only one *.exe file with size of 129mb
if i click it i cant find any installation widow if start with DOS and stops
if any knows how to install it . pls help me

ur *.exe ought not to be a file in linux,i think it one file in windows.....maybe u try to install it in DOS mode

i tried in dos mode also. i cant installed it. my friend told it is for linux. but i dont know what command need to run exe file.

if ur calibre file is exe file
then r to install in linux
it will just extract some folders.
they set path for that
mentor calibre have installer for installing calibre so just open that exe in linux and set environment to that

i do have calibre named ixl_cal_2004.4_8.14.exe , and i do have the same problem as you did last year .

and i'm now very puzzeld how to install it on linux .

u just run this exe file in linux.
it will extract into 14 folders in the same folders
then set environment and license for that

how to install mentor graphics

In a linux terminal.
1. chmod 755 ixl_cal_2004.4_8.14.exe <cr>
2. ./ixl_cal_2004.4_8.14.exe <cr>
3. next following the prompts through all the followed installation procedures, surely shall you have it done.

Remember, files with extension EXE are NOT necessary MS Windows's programs. Under linux, it is just a file with such name only.

Hi,

I am having a similar problem with Calibre too. I have already run the .exe file and completed the installation, but I'm told that it's also necessary to run a docs******.mis file to implement the right architecture for the software. I have the file, but when I try to run it (and yes, I have changed the write/read/execute rights to 777) I keep getting the error message "Cannot execute binary file". Can anyone please help me out here? It's urgently needed...
