hello guys .
i want to increase P89V51RD2 output pin current upto 1A, because 8051 pin actually gives 16mA current but i need 1A current to drive my application from 8051 pin.
plzsuggest me some solution about this.

thanx in advance

What are you going to drive?

You can use one NPN/PNP transistor if you need to only sink or source current. If you need to both sink and source current, you can use a totem-pole driver made with one NPN and one PNP transistor.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

From the word "give" I assume source condition.

And more general guidelines from microchip.

Keep in mind to select a transistor suited to you specifications.

what is the function of totem-pole driver?
and how totem-pole driver ll help me to get 1A?
