18f4550 and USB

Hi,
I have an embedded system using a PIC18LF4550 running at 20MHz and 3.3V. The question is how do I hook up the USB to the PIC? Electrically speaking I gathered from the USB spec that a LDO on the Vbus (+5V) line of the USB should do the trick.
Thus making the PIC side of things 3.3V.

I should also mention that the PIC side of things is self powered.
Is this correct?

Thanks in advance
Henri

Re: 18f4550 and USB

Hi Slayerza

If you are already running PIC at 3v3 - USB runs at 3v3 you just need to disable the internal regulator by VREGEN configuration bit and connect Vusb to Vdd 3v3 supply. RTFM
