How to find out how many other devices/pins can I drive using a PIC output

Please note, this is a generic question.What information about the PIC output buffer and the input buffers of the other ICs do I need to have with me to determine how many inputs I can drive using my PIC and if I will need to use an external buffer.
 

Microchip typically includes the specifications required to calculate "Fan-in" and "Fan-out" of a PIC port pin within the devices datasheet, often located in the Electrical Characteristics Section, under the subsections, ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS, I/O PIN INPUT SPECIFICATIONS, I/O PIN OUTPUT SPECIFICATIONS.
