How to encrypt string of words in C++?

the source codes tat i hav cant be compiled...i need someones help over here...im a beginner in c++...i hope someone out thr can help me in tis....and i cudn encrypt string of words with the des algorithm.can oni encrypt hexa and binary numbers..can anyone modify it so can encrypt words also?
