How to decrease the heap size ?

Hi, I am using a pic24fj128ga010 mcu and I am having trouble with my data memory space. The heap takes up about half of my data memory and I still need a lot to save my files for streaming audio.

Does anyone know how to decrease the value of the heap? I tried changing it but errors occur or the widgets of the graphics library look bad.
