i want to know the host id of my computer for requesting the evaluation license of a s/w.mine is a standalone p.c not having a ethernet card...so i requested the license with a phy. add. 000000000000...however,i am unable to use the s/w as it is giving an error--l_host failure..please help..

host id problem

When the license manager of a particular software is based on server licensing it needs a ethernet card installed in the computer.

The Card should be enabled.

If the License Manager of the software is meant for standalone, either it activates based on the Computer Configuration and a key.

Computer configuration again means your harddisk logic number, ethernet card number, Host Id etc.

Either you should have to use a dummy ethernet card or a fake Ethernet Port ( Software Created ) to run your software.

..
