Delay Line / doubler
Can someone explain to me using the simplest possible method how I would go about creating a non-synchronous digital delay line? This is primarily for spice simulation to give me and idea of what's going on. I want to be able to phase shift a simple digital signal between 0 and 180 degrees without PLL or any other external clock. It makes it more difficult I know, but the incomign clock is square wave. If the incoming clock were a sine wave how much easier would it be to acomplish the phase delay? I dont' see any reason why not to use a sine wave generator as a system clock for phase adjustment and then passing it through a comparator to get a square edged clock later on.
