How to create a make file?

can you help me how to create a make file.
my assignment is when i typed (in terminal) ---- make "[path:] filename.c"
it should compile the file, with the "filename" as output file.
and if i give ----- make all --> it should compile all c files.

It is very eassy. U have to make a file called 'makefile' which contain all the instuctions to compile. then simply type 'make'!!!!!!!!!
