how to count number of pulses in a signal using 8051

I am attaching the other labsheet giving full details of how to measure duration of a pulse connected to the port pin P3.5.
The related program in assembly is also included! you can convert it to C if needed. If you find any of the stuff useful don't forget to press the useful button !!
In the present application under discussion you will find it easy to implement the pulse duration implementation.
If needed further details can be discussed.

@ark5230-means even if button remains pressed,pulse duration method will count 0.5 and 0.75 seconds
 

The pulse duration method will count duration of pulse. For example if the frequency of square wave is 1 KHz, the time duration of pulse T is 1 ms (time for which it remains high and then low). To distinguish between two different pulses they should have different frequencies. The Labsheet attached explains how does it measure duration of one pulse.
