rs232 to usb

FT232 seems to be the easist and most transparent way to do it. I have seen many devices built around that chip and its popularity is increasing.

Silabs CP2102 seems to be superior to the FTDI ones.

Re: rs232 to usb

You can use atmel 89C513a, the whole software is also available at the site.

I use it and it works fine.

If this is to learn USB, go for the atmel or signal or TI or cypres. Choose the one that you can actually buy.

If you want to do it fast and simple, go for the FTDI.
