How to connect Visual C++ 6.0 into matlab

Hi, everyone
I have a project in Visual C++ 6.0, I'd like to call it from matlab.
How can I do it?
Do I need update file C? Because I find in some example online, I see mexFunction. What is mexFunction? and How to write this function.
