How will we choose the correct antenna for transmission and reception of signals.
 

There are a number of questions you have to consider about. The frequency, broadband or not, gain, polarization, suitable dimensions, environmental conditions, application …
All of those parameters could lead you to the answer about the right antenna for you.

initially for us to help you ... answer these questions....

1) what frequency is your gear operating on ?

2) what is the gear ?

3) what range (distance) are you looking at being able to cover ?

4) Is it point to point or a spread out coverage thats needed ?

5) what power level is the transmitter mW or dBm ?

As I asked the OP who still hasnt responded......
do you want point to point and if so what sort of distance ?
or do you wantr omni directional and again what's the coverage area going to be ?
