short circuit test

hi
please spec. your Tr. nominal rating .
3ph 1st &2end voltage -kva to me.

Re: short circuit test

Transformer with short circuited turns will draw significantly greater magnetization current. At no load on secondary primary current will be much greater, how much depends where a short is. Voltage transformation will be out of specification, secondary voltage will be significantly lower.
When testing suspicious transformer you must use a fuse in primary circuit. Transformers up to 100W will draw less than 100mA when unloaded.
