Hi there,

Does anybody have any idea of haw can I change the boud rate of the GPS module GM725 (www.navibe.com). The default value is 4800bps, but I would like to increase it. The datasheet tells that you can change it but none of the NMEA 0183 commands that the device supports have any relation with the boud rate handling.

Thank you.

Re: gps handling

HI

You must use device property protocol for changing the baud rate and not NMEA command.

All the best

Re: gps handling

in general baud rate =clock cycles/Uart

here UART CIRCUIT DEVIDES THE CLOCK CYCLES.

Example:clock cycles frequency=921.6hz;
UART CIRCUIT DEVIDES THE CLOCK CYCLES by 32 ;
baud rate =28,800hz:

how to handle the baud rate?

here i can double the baud rate:

clock cycles frequency=921.6hz;
UART CIRCUIT DEVIDES THE CLOCK CYCLES by 16 ;
baud rate =57,600hz:

Re: gps handling

there is no need to increase the GPS baud rate...

it is getting updated every 3 sec..

if u will use the hi speed baud rate, u will get repeated NEAM stream..
