Hi all,
How to assign one more layer in multilayer PCB case to GND in HFSS? For example, there are 4 layers stack in PCB, top/bot, inner1/inner2 layers namely. Microstrip line is located on top and bot layer, which are both referenced on inner1 and inner2 layer respectively.
In HFSS model, it is easy to assign both inner1 and inner2 to Perfect-E boundary, and can also get a simulation resut.
But I doublt like this setting is not right, as inner1 and inner2 have not the equal potential as GND in real world.
I guess it can be resolved by adding many vias between inner1 and inner2 using PEC material similar as real PCB. But it's too troublesome. Is there simple method?
Thanks.
