Jan 29, 2006 #2 VSMVDD Banned Joined Jun 12, 2005 Messages 643 Helped 92 Reputation 184 Reaction score 34 Trophy points 1,308 Location scotland uk Activity points 0 https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/devicedoc/30292c.pdf the rc 5 pin is used as a spi data output pin when in spi mode or as a GP soft uart serial data output pin this would be used along with rc 4 data input pin appart from this it can be used as a general purpose {schmit triggered input }buffered i/o pin nothing special most people use this pin sometimes to drive external eeprom etc... to clock data into other chipset etc... use it as you want if you dont use these modes ive used it for buttons and switches also
