how many guys use magma to do layour design

i am the begineer on layout design, and i use magma software to do it.
does this tool powerful or some other tools are better than it?

Actually, do you use Windows or UNIX based?
Cadence is quite good, same as mentor grafic!

As for me, I'm just using Tanner Tools...it's quite OK :lol:

for i know, m@gma is good apr tool for dsm.
it's for digital, not for analog.

Tanner tools are cheap and quite ok but I think Cadence IC (with Mentor Calibre for LPE) is my golden environment.

Just recently some people in my company started using Magma. They seem pretty happy with the results.

yes, my company is also use magma in unix enviroment. i never use other tools, so i don't know which one is better. but some time, the magma will make some small mistake.

as for me, I do prefer to the Candance, and I also have not heared the Magma before.

Magma is a really powerful tool in ASIC...
It intergtated a complete RTL-to-GDSII design and analysis solutions.

And guess what, tool values near a million in US dollar... 8O

You are so luck, it seems your company is big.

magma has very powerful p&r ability, it's very obvious under 0.13.
