How many bits should be an ADC ....?

Here is my simple question..
If we need to measure temeprature in the range from 0 to 1600°C with resolution of 0,1°C how many bits should be the ADC ?
 

Hi !

You have 16000 steps, so the formula is: LOG2(16000) = 13.9657 or 14 bits

In fact 2^14 = 16384 sufficient for 16000 steps.
