How long will I wait for a call-back after an interview?

if i apply to a job:
-do they call me back, even if i didnt get the job? or only if they want me?
-if they call back, how much time does it take? (for waiting)
-is it usual, that they are colelcting resumes for half year, then they call back only the winner?

I applied to few big companies in the USA.

i think they are amoungst the question you should ask them

if you fail to ask a company any questions your daft

if i were an employer i would be supicious if you didnt ask such questions
and put the application in the shredder
