how to check tools license in unix

Dear Sir,

i have the following setup issues, i need some one to help me out .

we plan to install license on sun workstation, the license is floating, but we plan to run the real simulation program on faster PC with RHEL AS3.0 OS installed. The actual simulation program is installed on linux PC, the sun box is only for license check-out only. What should i do? What kind of knowledge should i learn??

(PS: i know how to install tool on SUN-box/linux-PC, and run simulation on SUN-box/linux-PC independently.)

Thanks a lot for any suggestion or help in advance :)

linux pccheck

check some knowledge about 'flexlm'.
1st, start a license server on sun workstation.
2nd, set 'setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE portnumber@lic_svr' on linux platform.
it's for csh shell. lic_svr is your sun workstation.
'LM_LICENSE_FILE' is a general environment variable. some tools have special environment variable you can use it.

linux license check

Thanks : )

It works well now.
