Hi,

How does reactive power affects the voltage and real power flow? how does it improves the voltage? and also does the reactive power absorb by the equipment from a source is returned back?

I am reading articles about reactive power, but they have limited discussions and I am a little confused. Anyone knows a good article about reactive power?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Reactive power

Reactive power is the power stored in capacitors and or inductors.
The capacitive or industive loads cause a lead and lag between the load voltage and curent. The cosine of this agle is called the power factor. A power factor of less than 1 reduce the usagfull wattage (enegy) of the supply.

Re: Reactive power

Hi...

reactive power can be thought of as an energy deal. u give Energy the capacitors and inductors in a circuit and receive it. U do this as many times as there are cycles in a period. This limits the capacity of power system without efficient power delivery!
