Hello! I'm quite new to the whole design aspect. I'm trying to build my own hand-cranked dynamo battery charger. Since the output of the dynamo is very small, is there anything that I can use to increase the voltage output? Is op-amp suitable for this type of project? Help!!

just see if this helps. I guess you'll need to change the final output to DC for charger

Thanks! I did think of a multiplier. But I'm searching for a single chip that work as that. Any suggestions?

The multiplier circuit produces a very low output current.

Added after 2 hours 11 minutes:

A generator's output voltage depends on its speeds.
Use gears or a pu;lley to increase its speed to increase its output voltage.

You can use this IC:

KA34063 : Minimum input voltage required : 3.0V, maximum output current : 1.5A
MCP1252 : Minimum input voltage required : 2.0V, maximum output current : 120mA

Goto microchip.com or fairchildsemi.com to find out more ICs.
