How can i save my c program in MPLAB?

I am new in Micro-controller. I have a program in micro c language. I do not know how to save my program in MPLAB. Is it is filename.c or .asm or other. Could anyone help me please???
 

You say it's C, then you would use the .c extension for your main code, and the .h extension for any header files.
